2023 TIMTOS Smart Manufacturing Workshop - Sharing Insights on Digitalized Stamping Applications
Jan 4, 2024
The Taiwan International Machine Tool Show (TIMTOS) is officially open!
TIMTOS, renowned globally, stands as a pivotal exhibition for professionals in the mechanical industry worldwide. During the opening ceremony, President Tsai Ing-wen stated that Taiwan's machinery industry has achieved a consecutive five-year output value exceeding a trillion, with exports accounting for nearly 6% of the country's total exports. Taiwan's machinery industry ecosystem has become a crucial hub in the global supply chain, and the government will continue to support the industry, making it a solid pillar for Taiwan's overall industrial development. The President further highlighted that Taiwan's machinery industry has evolved from precision machinery to smart manufacturing, becoming Taiwan's third trillion-dollar industry. Through collaborative efforts, we have constructed a highly resilient and competitive machinery industry ecosystem, serving as a crucial hub in the global supply chain.
Smart Manufacturing Workshop - The Key to Metal Processing Smart Manufacturing
On the first day of the exhibition, Vice President Kevin Chi of Kuenlin Precision attended the "Smart Manufacturing Workshop - The Key to Metal Processing Smart Manufacturing" event.
Kunlin Precision shared insights into digitalized stamping applications, showcasing the use of single-arm robotic quick change technology and visual positioning to replace traditional mechanical positioning. These new technologies allow a single production line to manufacture diverse components and meet the ability to customize orders. Intelligent mold monitoring was also discussed, applying the concept of facial recognition through external sensors and AI computing devices. This preventive monitoring, using waveform and stamping signal comparison, enhances production efficiency and quality. The digitization of tool and mold information also contributes to machine learning and intelligent applications.
